Mayor Signs New Lead Paint Law
Mayor Bill de Blasio recently signed Local Law 31 of 2020, which will require that every apartment built prior to 1960 where a child under six years old resides be checked for lead hazards within five years of the law’s effective date by an inspector certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). All home improvement contractors will be required to show that they are certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ensure that they are prepared to follow lead-related safety standards.
The law will become effective within 180 days, which will be in August 2020. We will keep you apprised of upcoming developments and requirements.
I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100 positive. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
